2011 NFL Draft: Steelers Have Pre-Draft Visits With Offensive Linemen Marcus Cannon, Keith Williams

The Steelers had pre-draft visits with offensive linemen Marcus Cannon (TCU) and Keith Williams (Nebraska) on Tuesday, the Post-Gazette reports. Cannon has been connected to the Steelers in a few mock drafts, and is probably a second-round talent. He might be a good choice there, particularly if the Steelers pick a cornerback or defensive lineman in the first round. Williams is less highly-rated, and probably projects as a middle-round talent. NFL Draft Scout has him listed as a fifth-rounder. Here’s a draft report on Williams that questions his mental toughness but asserts that the talent is there if he’s able to pull himself together:

… Williams is inconsistent and lacks mental toughness, competitiveness and effort.

The same profile suggests that Williams could be a good NFL player if he takes the game more seriously. It sounds like the Steelers stand to learn a lot about him by bringing him in for a visit.
