Rob Rang’s latest 2011 NFL Mock Draft at CBSSports.com again has the Steelers taking Texas cornerback Aaron Williams, who is becoming an increasingly popular pick for the Steelers as the NFL Draft approaches this week. In the second round, he has the Steelers taking Hampton DT Kenrick Ellis, just as he did two weeks ago.
Elsewhere in this mock, Mike Pouncey goes to the Dolphins at No. 15. Pitt’s Jabaal Sheard sneaks into the first round, going to the Falcons at No. 27.
A number of players in whom the Steelers have shown interest go off the board in the second round. Alabama offensive lineman James Carpenter goes surprisingly early, nearly sneaking into the first round. Pitt’s Jon Baldwin (who isn’t a particularly likely Steelers target, although that hasn’t stopped some folks from at least wondering about the possibility) goes to the Vikings at No. 43, while Virginia corner Ras-I Dowling, a potential Steelers pick, goes to the Eagles at No. 54. Texas corner Curtis Brown, another potential Steelers target, goes to the Bucs at No. 51.
