Todd McShay NFL Mock Draft Has Steelers Taking Cameron Heyward, Orlando Franklin

Todd McShay’s latest 2011 NFL mock draft. The first four picks (Cam Newton, Von Miller, Marcell Dareus, A.J. Green) are predictable, but McShay has Missouri DE Aldon Smith going to the Cardinals at No. 5 overall. Prince Amukamara, meanwhile, falls all the way to the Bucs at No. 20.

McShay has the Steelers picking Ohio State DE Cameron Heyward, followed by the Green Bay Packers taking Texas corner Aaron Williams. That would certainly be a strange sequence of events, given the level of interest the Steelers have had in Williams, but Heyward would be a good value at the No. 31 overall pick.

In the second round, McShay has the Steelers taking Miami offensive lineman Orlando Franklin. Here’s a scouting report on Franklin. He would be a good value at the end of the second round, but like Heyward, he would probably be the sort of player the Steelers might feel obligated to take simply because he’s available, not necessarily the guy they really want.
