Here’s SB Nation’s latest NFL mock draft. Cam Newton goes to the Carolina Panthers with the first overall pick, and SB Nation notes that the Panthers are very likely to pick either Newton or fellow quarterback Blaine Gabbert.
Further down, Pitt’s Jabaal Sheard goes to the Tampa Bay Bucs at No. 20 overall:
A second straight pick with a fringe first-rounder surging safely into the Top 20? Sheard is a vastly underrated prospect, and with all of the top edge rushers off the board, Tampa may feel alright “reaching” on an end that’s nearly as enticing as the higher-profile guys.
Mike Pouncey goes to the Bears at No. 28 overall, and SB Nation has the Steelers picking Texas cornerback Aaron Williams, a very popular Steelers mock draft target.
Aaron Rodgers ripped the Steelers’ vaunted defense – their secondary in particular – to shreds in Super Bowl XLV. The team needs reinforcements on the back end, and Williams has the requisite physicality and playmaking ability to excel in Dick LeBeau’s system.
