Hey, have you checked out Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall's Twitter page recently? No? Well, your eyes are about to widen, because there's all kinds of interesting stuff on there.
↵↵↵What kind of person celebrates death? It's amazing how people can HATE a man they have never even heard speak. We've only heard one side...
↵
Mendenhall is referring, obviously, to the death of Osama Bin Laden. Here's another, on Bin Laden's role in 9/11:
↵↵↵I'm not convinced he was even behind the attacks we have really seen no evidence to prove it other than the gov telling us
↵
SB Nation Pittsburgh isn't a political site, but man, I'm never really sure whether someone who claims not to hate an clear villain and moral monster like Osama Bin Laden is simply deluded, or obsessed with moral relativism to the point of complete mental paralysis, or simply a much better, saintlier person than me, or maybe some combination thereof. In any case, I don't agree with Mendenhall at all.
↵In some ways, though, it's at least nice that he feels free to express his opinions, no matter how off-the-wall I think they are. So many athletes are so circumspect in public forums that we learn almost nothing about them. In this case, I'm learning something about Mendenhall that I didn't want to know, but I'll concede that he's brave. Steelers fans aren't going to like this at all.
