2012 NFL Mock Draft: Who Follows Andrew Luck, Matt Barkley And Matt Kalil?

Behind The Steel Curtain has a new two-round (!!!!) 2012 NFL Mock Draft. The usual caveats about not knowing the draft order, not knowing whether there will be an NFL season, not knowing how the college football season is going to go, and so on and so on, certainly apply here. That said, this is all good fun, so let's have at it.

Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck is, unsurprisingly, the first overall pick. Following him are USC quarterback Matt Barkley and offensive lineman Matt Kalil. BTSC has the Steelers picking Alabama nose tackle Kerry Murphy:

But seeing how the Steelers rarely go for immediate need and instead go for the best talent available that fits a need within the next couple of years, I think they’ll go for a nose tackle to replace Casey Hampton. He’ll be 35 at the start of the 2012 season and in the final year of his current contract. Finding his replacement would solidify the defensive front for the next decade, when including Ziggy Hood and Cameron Heyward. At this point, I have Kerry Murphy as my highest-rated nose tackle. He’s 6-foot-4, 330 pounds, and is going to be the next big thing (figuratively and literally) at Alabama after Marcell Dareus and Terrence Cody. But another nose tackle who will probably gain some steam is Washington’s Alameda Ta’amu.

In the second round, the Steelers take Maryland linebacker Kenny Tate.
