Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward and partner Kym Johnson will celebrate their Mirror Ball victory on Dancing With The Stars with a rally on Grant Street, by the City-County building and near the Allegheny County Courthouse, on Thursday, the Post-Gazette reports. Also, the city is holding an open call for couples to submit YouTube videos demonstrating their dancing ability. The city will post some videos on its Facebook page, and the three most popular couples will be invited to join Ward and Johnson on stage at the rally.
↵↵↵"City residents and the Steelers Nation have contacted my office asking for the city to properly thank our hometown hero for once-again shining the spotlight on Pittsburgh," Mayor Luke Ravenstahl said.

I'm not sure we really need a city rally to celebrate the winner of a reality show, but this does seem like a win-win for Ward and for city officials, whose plan to involve Pittsburghers through the use of social media is a clever one.
