Terrelle Pryor Not Likely To Go To Steelers In NFL Supplemental Draft

The Steelers have recently been connected to former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor, who is hoping to enter the NFL via the supplemental draft. In fact, he visited the Steelers on Sunday. But don't read too much into that, says Scott Brown. This is about Pryor's Western Pennsylvannia roots, not about the Steelers' interest in him.

The Steelers make sure they do their due diligence especially when it comes to local kids. They’ll bring in anybody from their backyard that is eligible to visit and has a chance to play in the NFL.

Also, Pryor could be taking a physical here with all teams getting access to the results of it. The Steelers are the closest NFL organization to his hometown of Jeannette, and there has been such little time since the league cleared Pryor for the supplemental draft that not all teams have access to him –- the way they would have at the NFL Combine.

Right. As Steelers Depot points out, the Steelers have never picked anyone in the supplemental draft. This is probably mostly about the Steelers helping out other teams, since they're not as close, geographically, to Pryor as the Steelers are. I wouldn't expect the Steelers to go nuts on a bid for Pryor.
