Terrelle Pryor Picked By Raiders In Supplemental Draft

The Oakland Raiders have acquired former Ohio State quarterback and Jeannette native Terrelle Pryor in the third round of the 2011 NFL Supplemental Draft. They evidently would like to try him at wide receiver, John Clayton notes.

ESPN's John Clayton reports that the Raiders are more interested in employing Pryor as a receiver than a quarterback. Receivers are suddenly in demand in Oakland after Jacoby Ford fractured his hand in training camp and Chaz Schilens injured a knee in the preseason opener.

That may be true, but I wouldn't expect Pryor to make an impact anytime soon. He will begin the season by serving a five-game suspension, and even if that weren't the case, he's expected to be a project.

Unsurprisingly, the Steelers weren't willing to part with an early-round draft pick to get Pryor.

No other players were selected in the supplemental draft.
