Kevin Colbert's title has changed to General Manager, the Post-Gazette reports. Nobody really seems to know what this means, but it's a promotion.
↵↵↵That title was never used, however, until now and it was merely slipped into their 2011 media guide, which is available only in digital version at the moment on the team's website.
↵There also is no elaboration as to the promotion, merely a title change for Colbert and a line in his biography that he is in "his first year as the team's general manager."

Behind The Steel Curtain thinks that Colbert's drafting prowess as the Steelers' Director of Football Operations might be the best way to explain why he's the first to win the GM title.
↵↵↵It must be the first round picks.
↵Colbert has been in charge of the team's draft since 2000, and in that time, there have been essentially zero busts in 12 picks. Included in that are Casey Hampton, Troy Polamalu, Ben Roethlisberger, Heath Miller, Lawrence Timmons, Rashard Mendenhall and Maurkice Pouncey.

The Steelers have won two Super Bowls under Colbert.
