Willie Colon Injury: Torn Triceps Means Steelers May Have To Look Elsewhere For Offensive Line Help

Steelers offensive lineman Willie Colon will likely miss the rest of the season with a torn triceps, and he’ll have surgery Tuesday. There was a report earlier Monday that Colon had suffered a serious triceps injury during the Steelers’ game against the Ravens on Sunday, and it looks like the report is now confirmed.

Starting ORT Willie Colon, according to two sources, suffered an arm injury, which is believed to be in the triceps area.

This means the Steelers could turn to either Flozell Adams or Max Starks, who were dropped in the preseason, mostly for salary-related reasons. They could also turn to second-round draft pick Marcus Gilbert.

This is a tough loss for the Steelers, and also for Colon, who missed all of last season due to injury.

The Steelers signed Colon to a five-year contract before the season.
