The Steelers completed their thrashing of the Seattle Seahawks with a scoreless fourth quarter, leading to a 24-0 shutout victory. Better still, the Baltimore Ravens, likely the Steelers’ chief competition in the AFC North, currently trail the Tennessee Titans by 10 with about three and a half minutes to play.
Ben Roethlisberger went 22-for-30 with 298 yards passing, 126 of them to Mike Wallace, who also had a touchdown. Rashard Mendenhall and Isaac Redman combined for 118 yards rushing and each had a touchdown.
The Steelers dominated on defense, never letting the Seahawks get into a rhythm. The Seahawks’ running game, in particular, was practically nonexistent – Marshawn Lynch had only 11 yards rushing, and the Seahawks as a team had only 31. Tarvaris Jackson had 159 yards passing, but needed 29 attempts to reach that total.
