Rashard Mendenhall Injury Update: Steelers RB To Get MRI, According To Report

The Pittsburgh Steelers picked up a win over the Cleveland Browns in the final game of the regular season on Sunday. Running back Rashard Mendenhall came out of the game in the first quarter after suffering a knee injury. Mendenhall was helped to the locker room by staff and was replaced in the game by Isaac Redman.

After the game, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that Mendenhall is scheduled to undergo an MRI on his right knee in order to assess the extent of the injury.

The Steelers have already made it into the postseason, although they missed out on a first-round bye due to a Baltimore Ravens win today. If Mendenhall is unable to play in any postseason games, it is expected that Redman will fill in as the featured back for Pittsburgh. Jonathan Dwyer would normally be next on the depth chart, but is currently on injured reserve.
