Steelers Vs. Broncos: Tim Tebow On Steelers' Minds

The hype surrounding Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow has cooled since the Broncos collapsed down the stretch, losing their last three games. By some, um, miracle, though, the Broncos still made the playoffs at 8-8, and the Steelers don’t want to look past Tebow despite his mediocre numbers, according to Scott Brown of the Trib.

“I root for the underdogs,” [James] Farrior said. “A lot of people hated on him.”

Farrior is not one of them.

“He is the guy we have to stop,” the Steelers’ defensive captain said. “No doubt about it. The guy is a winner and a competitor. He is something that we haven’t seen in a long time in a quarterback. He does a lot of things with his feet, and we have to be prepared for that.”

Tebow seemed weirdly unstoppable at one point this season, but now he’s coming off three straight losses, including games against the Bills and Chiefs in which he played horribly.

Still, it’s best not to tempt fate. Brown notes that Farrior also pointed out that the Steelers don’t want to keep Tebow in the game and give him a chance to mount one of his magical comebacks. That’s probably the right idea.
