2012 NFL Mock Draft: Steelers Could Look To Replace Casey Hampton

Alex Groberman at Opposing Views just came out with a new 2012 NFL Mock Draft, and he is one of the few people who does not have the Steelers investing in some help along the offensive line. He has them taking Dontari Poe, a nose tackle out of Memphis, with their first round pick.

The Steelers really need offensive line improvement, unfortunately there won’t be any first round-caliber talent available at this point. Because of that, Pittsburgh will shift the focus to defense. Out of all the talent available, the absolutely massive Poe makes more sense than anyone else with this pick.

Casey Hampton has been the anchor of the Steelers defensive line for a number of years now, but he was knocked out of their game against the Broncos and he isn't getting any younger. It would make sense for the Steelers to bring in a guy who could play behind him and ultimately take his spot at some point this offseason, considering how important that position is to what they want to do on defense.
