NFL Mock Draft 2012: Unlikely, But Ideal, Scenario Has David DeCastro Falling To Steelers

Mocking The Draft has a good post about a dream 2012 NFL Draft for the Steelers. It starts with them taking Stanford guard David DeCastro with the No. 24 overall pick, which is interesting, because a top-notch offensive guard prospect like DeCastro falling to the Steelers is about the best thing they could hope for without diving headlong into fantasyland. I've never seen a mock draft where DeCastro falls to the Steelers, but he does last into the late teens quite a lot (sometimes going to the Bengals at No. 17), and if that can happen, then who knows? Anyway, here's Mocking The Draft's take.

DeCastro falling here is highly, highly unlikely but it is possible. Maybe he comes to the Combine slightly out of shape. Maybe he is slightly injured (but decides to play) and gets abused by Defensive prospects. Who knows, but his kid is going to be a top 5 guard in the NFL and I dream of landing him.

The dream draft continues with Miami OG Brandon Washington in the second round, Oregon RB LaMichael James (which seems pretty unlikely, even in a dream scenario) in the third, and NC State ILB Audie Cole in the fourth. The Steelers would then wait to take a nose tackle (Marshall's Delvin Johnson) until the sixth round.
