NFL Mock Draft 2012: Steelers Take Cordy Glenn In New Sports Illustrated Mock

Don Banks' latest 2012 NFL mock draft for Sports Illustrated has the Steelers taking Georgia offensive lineman Cordy Glenn. Glenn has been a popular guess for mock drafters trying to predict the Steelers' pick at No. 24 at all, due to Pittsburgh's problems on the offensive line, and at guard in particular.

The Steelers are being given Memphis DT Dontari Poe in plenty of mocks, and he makes sense as a replacement for veteran Casey Hampton, who is coming off ACL surgery. But have you seen the state of the Steelers' offensive line the past two seasons? Until convinced otherwise, we consider Pittsburgh's OL issues to be its top priority.

That makes sense, although the Steelers could also draft someone like Poe (or an inside linebacker) in the first round, figuring they can address their offensive line situation in later rounds. That's more or less what they did last year, when they had serious needs at offensive line and cornerback, but they took defensive end Cameron Heyward in the first round anyway. They then grabbed offensive lineman Marcus Gilbert and cornerbacks Curtis Brown and Cortez Allen in the second through fourth rounds.

Penn State's Devon Still goes to the Chiefs at No. 11 in this mock.
