Penn State defensive tackle Jordan Hill has told ABC 27 in Harrisburg that he will be returning for his senior season, according to Penn State sports information director Jeff Nelson's Twitter account.
Hill racked up 59 tackles in 2011, including 8.0 for a loss to go with 3.5 sacks. He also recovered three fumbles. He ranked No. 6 overall on the team in tackles and No. 1 among defensive linemen.
It'll be interesting to see how he performs without fellow defensive linemen Jack Crawford, Eric Latimore and All-American and Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year Devon Still playing alongside him, though. That graduating trio took a lot of pressure off the underclassman Hill, especially Still, who drew frequent double-teams from Penn State's opponents.
With this announcement, he'll obviously step into a leadership role along the Nittany Lions' defensive front.
