The Pittsburgh Steelers placed two players on the AFC Pro Bowl roster; center Maurkice Pouncey and tight end Heath Miller. For this first time since the 1999 season, no defensive players from Pittsburgh will be headed to Honolulu.
Pouncey has been selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his first three seasons, this is his second straight season as a starter. The Steelers center has established himself as one of the premiere offensive lineman in the NFL.
This is the second Pro Bowl selection for Miller. He made the 2010 Pro Bowl as an alternate when Dallas Clark advanced to the Super Bowl with the Colts and could not take part in the Pro Bowl. This season Miller was selected as the backup for Rob Gronkowski, but Miller will not be able to participate because he tore multiple knee ligaments in the Steelers Week 16 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Miller ended his season with 71 receptions for 816 yards with eight touchdowns.
