2012 NFL Draft: West Virginia Football Pro Day Set For March 16

In preparing for the 2012 NFL Draft and the next step in their football careers, a few West Virginia football players will showcase their skills March 16 during the the Mountaineers Pro Day. The showcase will come after the NFL's Draft Combine, which will be held Feb. 22-28 in Indianapolis.

The event, which is a bit more personal than the NFL Combine and is held on the campus of WVU, will give Mountaineer outside linebacker Bruce Irvin a chance to impress NFL scouts and front-office brass. Draft projections currently list Irvin as a second- or third-round selection, but there is a big need for guys who can rush the quarterback, and that's just what Irvin does best.

The quickest pass rusher available in the draft, he is lighting fast off the snap and has a tremendous first step.

Meanwhile, inside linebacker Najee Goode, who is participating in the combine, isn't expected to be drafted, but could make some heads turn his way with a solid performance.
