NFL Mock Draft 2012: The Argument For Picking An Inside Linebacker In First Round

The NFL Draft is starting to come up on us fast and the Steelers need to weigh their options. Our Steelers blog Behind The Steel Curtain has been trying to make an argument for some positions that the team might need and today their talking inside linebacker. Here is their case.

Assuming that both Farrior and Foote are gone, this would leave the ILB position to be staffed by one stud (assuming that he doesn't have to move outside again and doesn't get injured) and a bunch of kids with less than a full season's game experience between them. The position they would be attempting to fill is arguably one of the most critical positions in the defense run by defensive coordinator Dick Lebeau.

Inside linebacker is one of the big needs for the Steelers, along with interior offensive lineman. If there is a great inside linebacker on the board when they are picking, it shouldn't be very difficult for the Steelers to talk themselves into making that pick.
