2012 Steelers Offseason: Willie Colon Unwilling To Take Pay Cut, According To Report

It's been a tough couple of years for Steelers tackle Willie Colon. He missed the 2010 season after injuring his Achilles tendon in offseason workouts, and missed most of this past season after tearing his triceps in Week 1 against the Ravens. As a result, the Seelers have had a hard time protecting Ben Roethlisberger. But despite all of his issues, Colon is unwilling to take a pay cut, according to Dave Bryan of Steelers Depot.

Colon has a base salary of $4.5 million in 2012, but he represents a $5.7 million cap hit for the team. He would figure to be a prime candidate to get cut considering the Steelers need to get under the cap, but they don't have a good replacement for him and he wouldn't represent enough savings to let the Steelers sign an adequate replacement.
