SB Nation’s latest NFL mock draft has the Steelers taking Memphis nose tackle Dontari Poe, who has become the most common guess in the past couple weeks for the Steelers’ pick.
Poe is huge. 6’3, 350 pounds huge. Casey Hampton, the team’s current nose tackle, is entering his 12th season in the league. He’ll be 35 years old in September. The Steelers could use some youth at the position, and Poe has the size and strength to fit the bill.
Yep, that pretty much covers it. Poe looks like he’ll be the best nose tackle available, and he’ll probably be a better match for need and draft position than any other player. Of course, you never know what exactly the Steelers will be thinking until they do it.
Penn State’s Devon Still falls to the Broncos at No. 25, as his two most likely suitors early in the draft, the Carolina Panthers and Seattle Seahawks, take Michael Brockers and Ryan Tannehill, respectively.
