Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Weslye Saunders has been suspended four games for violating an undisclosed league policy.

Without knowing what the violation was, it's hard to know what to say about this, beyond it being a pretty stiff punishment.

Saunders had four catches for 29 yards in his rookie season in 2011 after signing with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent out of South Carolina. This isn't the first time he's been in trouble; he was kicked off the team at South Carolina, where he admitted to lying to the NCAA about having agent contact at a party. He and some of his Gamecocks teammates also lived at a South Carolina hotel without paying full prices. He was once regarded as one of the top tight ends in the 2011 NFL Draft, but the Steelers were able to get him after the draft ended, in part due to character concerns. We don't know all the details yet, but it looks like his character is still an issue.
