2012 NFL Mock Draft: Could Robert Griffin III Trade Lead Browns To Take Ryan Tannehill?

SB Nation’s latest 2012 NFL Mock Draft accounts for this weekend’s epic Redskins/Rams trade, which had Washington mortgaging the entire rest of its future in order to be able to grab Robert Griffin III with the second overall pick. In this mock, that means the Cleveland Browns elect to take quarterback Ryan Tannehill at No. 4, which would be quite a reach.

None of that changes the Steelers’ pick. SB Nation’s is about the two dozenth consecutive mock I’ve seen that has Pittsburgh taking Alabama linebacker Dont’a Hightower.

James Farrior became a cap casualty this year as the Steelers scramble to find cap space and a way to get younger. Hightower has a knack for knowing where the ball is. He can also rush the passer with his brute strength. They still need to find a replacement for Casey Hampton.

Penn State’s Devon Still goes to the Broncos at No. 25. Wisconsin offensive lineman Kevin Zeitler, who some longer mock drafts have predicted will go in the second round, actually is selected by the Baltimore Ravens with the No. 29 overall pick.
