The Pittsburgh Steelers are playing with a small amount of money under the salary cap ($10.5 million, according to Pro Football Talk), as free agency is set to begin on Tuesday afternoon. The Steelers have restructured many current contracts with players to help get under the salary cap line. However, the number that the Steelers have under their line currently could become even thinner after signing tender sheets as well as signing their draft class.
The Steelers are not in serious trouble with the cap and will most certainly be below it when the free agency period begins Tuesday, but the low amount of available money will probably hamstring their ability to get some help via free agency.
