2012 Steelers Free Agency: Pittsburgh Signs Former Mountaineers Wes Lyons, Will Johnson

The other shoe is still waiting to drop on the big names in Steelers free agency (looking at you, Mike Wallace) but the team is also executing some smaller moves to continue filling out their roster. According to a press release on Steelers.com, the team has added some offensive depth in the form of two former West Virginia Mountaineers Wes Lyons and Will Johnson.

Lyons, a wide receiver and tight end at WVU, has some experience with the Steelers. Lyons was signed last offseason and spent the whole offseason with the team before being released right before the season started. Lyons is from the Pittsburgh area originally and attended Woodland Hills High School. He will be brought in to compete for time at tight end.

Johnson was a fullback at West Virginia. Lyons and Johnson were teammates at WVU for three years.
