2012 NFL Mock Draft: Don'ta Hightower Goes To The Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers could go many different ways in the 2012 NFL Draft. Most have projected offensive lineman to the Steelers because of the massive needs on their offensive line and protecting Ben Roethlisberger, who has been one of the most sacked quarterbacks in the NFL the past few seasons. I did my first mock draft for Big Cat Country over the weekend, and for me the best pick that fit the Steelers was Alabama linebacker Don'ta Hightower.

Hightower would fit right in at inside linebacker for the Steelers, coming out of a 3-4 defense in college at Alabama. Hightower is a great athlete for his size, clocking in at the 40-yard dash in 4.68 seconds at 6-foot-2 and 268 pounds. The Steelers recently released defensive veteran James Farrior, opening up a big need at inside linebacker, a need that Hightower could fill out of the gate as a rookie.
