2012 NFL Mock Draft: Steelers Projected To Take Cordy Glenn

The 2012 NFL Draft is just about three weeks away, which means we should start to get a better idea of the prospects that teams are focusing on. The Steelers have been linked to a lot of defensive players in recent mock drafts, but they also have some needs on the offensive side that could be addressed with their first round pick. In his latest 2012 NFL Mock Draft at CBS Sports, Dane Brugler has the Steelers beefing up their offensive line with Georgia guard Cordy Glenn.

Besides Maurkice Pouncey, the Steelers haven't used a first round pick on the offensive line since 2002 and would be wise to use another one here to protect Ben Roethlisberger and keep him healthy. Glenn has really stood-out during the pre-draft process, showing impressive movement skills for a 345-pounder with a 5.15 40-yard dash, adding 31 reps of 225 pounds. And perhaps his best quality is position versatility to play guard or tackle.

You can ask Ben Roethlisberger's ankle how it feels about this pick, because the extra help up front should help Big Ben stay upright a little bit better.
