The Pittsburgh Steelers re-signed restricted free agent cornerback Keenan Lewis and safety Ryan Mundy on Monday afternoon. The team also signed exclusive rights free agents punter Jeremy Kapinos, defensive tackle Steve McLendon and running back Isaac Redman, according to Howard Balzer of ESPN Radio.
Lewis and Mundy both signed one-year tender offers that will pay them $1.26 million in 2012. Lewis, a third-round pick in 2009, took over as the starting nickle corner last year. He has a chance to move into the starting lineup as a replacement for William Gay, who left via free agency. Mundy is the team's third safety, and a contributor on special teams.
Redman carried the ball 110 times last season for 479 yards and three touchdowns. He saw extended duty as injuries limited the team's running backs. With Rashard Mendenhall on the shelf, Redman had a chance to begin the season as the Steelers' starting tailback.
