Pittsburgh Steelers Unveil New 80th Anniversary Throwback Uniform

In celebration of the team’s 80th Anniversary, the Pittsburgh Steelers released new throwback jerseys on Tuesday for the 2012 season. If you like stripes, you’re in luck.

Worn by running back Isaac Redman, the team tweeted out the following picture earlier this afternoon.

The uniforms represent the jerseys worn during the 1934 season, a year, though, in which they finished with a 2-10 record. The Steelers will still sport their trademarked black helmets.

"We wanted to use a jersey that we wore early in our history as we celebrate our 80th season," Steelers President and co-owner Art Rooney II said. "We have never used those jerseys since the 1934 season and I think our fans will be excited to see our players wear them in action this year."
