2012 NFL Draft: Steelers Host Miami (OH) Guard Brandon Brooks

The 2012 NFL Draft is now less than a month away, and the Steelers continue to host prospects to get a better idea of who might be a good fit for their team. One of their recent visitors was Miami (OH) guard Brandon Brooks, and Steelers Depot seems to thing that he would be a pretty good fit.

The draft stock for Brooks come draft day will likely be late second round to late third round. His strong showing at the Shrine game combined with and excellent Pro Day has more than made up for him not being at the combine. He has made himself some money since the end of the season and would be an excellent guard for the Steelers, who have already brought him in for a pre draft visit.

Interior offensive line, specifically the guard position, is one of the areas of need for the Steelers and Brooks would represent a chance to add some talent there without using their first and likely second round picks. It might be difficult for the Steelers to pass on him if he is available in the third round and they haven't drafted a guard in the first two.
