NFL Draft 2012: D'Anton Lynn Could Be Late-Round Pick

Black Shoe Diaries has a profile of Penn State cornerback D’Anton Lynn, who’s hoping to be picked in the upcoming 2012 NFL Draft.

If an NFL team does take a chance and secure Lynn with a late round pick, they’ll get a hard working, soft spoken guy with a high football IQ. The son of the Jets’ running back coach, Lynn anchored the defensive backfield for the Nittany Lions over the past three years, despite missing sporadic time due to injury. He held his own over the years against the best wide receivers in the Big Ten, and it wasn’t uncommon to not hear his name for many minutes—which some say is the mark of a good defensive back.

After a rough combine performance (due in part to a calf injury, Lynn has fallen off the radar a bit, and he may go undrafted. That’s probably the most likely scenario, actually. Still, his name is worth watching as the draft enters the later rounds.
