Jamison Hensley notices that the Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens have many of the same needs heading into the NFL Draft.
Both teams are looking at guards like Georgia’s Cordy Glenn and Wisconsin’s Kevin Zeitler …
Both teams could use an inside linebacker like Alabama’s Dont’a Hightower. Pittsburgh has a leadership void there since cutting James Farrior, and Baltimore has to start thinking of an heir apparent to Ray Lewis.
You can see this dynamic in many recent mock drafts, which have the Ravens drafting someone at No. 29 in whom the real-life Steelers might have interest. It actually might not come into play in the first round, simply because the Steelers’ actions there are unpredictable, but in the later rounds, we could certainly see the two teams drafting players at the same positions. That would give the draft a bit more of that Steelers/Ravens rivalry we’ve been transfixed by during the NFL season.
