2012 NFL Draft: Chas Alecxih A Likely Late-Round Pick

Pittsburgh Panthers defensive tackle Chas Alecxih is hoping that an untimely bout of stomach flu during the NFL Scouting Combine will not kill his chances of being drafted. According to ESPN NFL Draft analyst Todd McShay, Alecxih is projected as a possible sixth-round draft pick. In addition, Caridac Hill has optimism that Alecxih will be drafted at some point.

It's always tough to know where guys like Alecxih will end up. He's a good all-around player, but didn't really impress all that much in his postseason workouts. But all it takes is finding one interested team and there's a good chance he's able to do that this week.

Alecxih was second team all-Big East player his final year with the Panthers. His senior year he recorded 6.5 sacks, including one in the BBVA Compass Bowl against the SMU Mustangs. He went from a walk-on player at Pitt to a two-year scholarship player as he improved.
