NFL Draft 2012: Should The Steelers Trade Down From No. 24?

Steelers Depot posted an article today talking about what should be the course of action for Pittsburgh going into the NFL Draft.

He says that the Steelers will not reach for an offensive line prospect unless they are convinced at his value, which begs the question of whether the Steelers should trade out of the No. 24 pick and stockpile some picks for later in the draft.

It would not be out of the question for the Steelers to explore the value of trading their first round pick away for additional later round picks. Acquiring additional picks in the second or third and the later rounds would allow the Steelers to select multiple offensive line prospects...who could still contribute to the team early.

Trading down is always a proposition that can be tricky because you will not get any flash for trading down. At the same time, flash has never been a big focus for the Steelers, as they always seem to look for players who will buy into their system.
