2012 NFL Draft, Devon Still: Draft Experts Praise Penn State Product's Versatility

Ask any NFL expert about which defensive tackle is the best in the 2012 NFL Draft, and the answers will vary widely. One name in the conversation is Penn State product Devon Still, ticketed for a likely first-round pick when the draft gets underway on April 26. Russ Lande at the Sporting News put Still in the 16th spot of his player rankings list.

That does not make Still the highest-rated defensive tackle in Lande's eyes. The top 15 prospects will be revealed in a second part of Lande's series. Nevertheless, the ranking reconfirms the conventional wisdom that Still will be a first-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. Where he goes and how he fits in at the NFL level remains to be seen.

Lande points to several teams that could consider Still.

The Kansas City Chiefs pick 11th overall and must upgrade their defensive line, so they could take Still in the first round if LSU's Michael Brockers is not available. Later in the first round, the New York Jets and No. 16 and the New England Patriots, who hold the 27th and 3st picks, could have interest in Still because he would fit well in their 3-4 schemes.
