2012 NFL Mock Draft: Dont'a Hightower To The Steelers Getting More Traction

The 2012 NFL Draft is less than three weeks away, and most experts are still predicting that the Pittsburgh Steelers will take steps to bring some youth to their defense. In the latest 2012 NFL mock draft from SB Nation, the Steelers opt for Alabama linebacker Dont'a Hightower.

Here was my explanation for the pick:

This pick is becoming a bit like the top two picks in the draft, preordained. Hey, if the shoe fits, right? Hightower may not make it this far. If not, the Steelers may go with an offensive tackle instead.

Seattle is also said to be interested in Hightower, who is gaining momentum in a draft starved for blue chip defensive talent.

Another player that the Steelers might consider is Mississippi offensive tackle Bobby Massie. Under the radar compared to Jonathan Martin and Mike Adams, Massie has been far more consistent in his college career than either of those two players. He also has three years starting experience against SEC competition.
