Hines Ward Considering Post-Steelers Career As NFL Analyst

Mark Kaboly tweets that recently-retired Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward is considering a career as a football analyst:

Retired #Steelers WR Hines Ward met with NBC, CBS and ESPN over the weekend about joining them as an NFL analyst for the upcoming season.

This is no surprise. Ward, who retired after it became clear the Steelers didn't want him back next year, appears to have been looking ahead to his post-NFL career for some time. His appearance (and victory) in Dancing With The Stars last offseason was part of that (which was one reason his DUI arrest shortly afterwards was such a confusing bit of news). I'd expect him to try to find ways to remain in the public eye.

Ward is beloved in Pittsburgh, but not so much among fans of other teams, so it will be interesting to see how his career as an analyst goes.

Ward finished his playing career, spent entirely with the Steelers, with 1,000 receptions and 12,083 yards.
