2012 NFL Draft Results: Steelers Draft Picks Select New Numbers

The Pittsburgh Steelers will be hosting their new rookies at a camp this weekend, which means the team had to give them some numbers to put on their practice jerseys. Ed Bouchette has a complete rundown of the numbers that the new players will be wearing, including some of their top picks from the draft.

David DeCastro, the first round pick at No. 24 overall, will wear No. 61 with his new club. DeCastro wore No. 52 while playing at Stanford but that number is off limits because of Mike Webster. The team doesn't officially retire numbers anymore, but they aren't giving out No. 52.

The Steelers took Mike Adams in the second round and he will be wearing No. 76. The team's second round pick Sean Spence chose to fill some big shoes as he will wear No. 51, the number recently vacated when the team released James Farrior. Alameda Ta'amu, whom the Steelers took in the fourth round, will be wearing No. 95 as he lines up as nose tackle for Pittsburgh. Chris Rainey will be wearing No. 22.

You can see the Numbers for all the Steelers draft picks as well as some of their offseason additions here.
