NFL Draft 2012: Steelers Sign Fifth Round Pick Chris Rainey

The Pittsburgh Steelers have begun to secure their 2012 draft picks, as fifth round pick Chris Rainey became the second draftee to sign with the team.

Rainey, a running back out of the University of Florida, was taken with the 159th overall pick of the draft.

In his career as a Gator, Rainey ranks ninth all-time in rushing yards with 2,464 in 52 career games. Rainey was a threat in numerous ways in his college career, scoring 21 career touchdowns; 13 rushing, six receiving and two on punt returns.

He also set the Southeast Conference record with six career blocked punts.

Rainey is the second draft pick to sign, joining Washington's Alameda Ta'amu who was taken in the fourth round.
