Steelers Sign Antonio Brown To A 5-Year Extension, According To Report

While the Steelers broke off negotiations with wide receiver Mike Wallace for the time being, the team was able to lock up a different route runner, as Pro Football Talk is reporting that the team and Antonio Brown have agreed to a five-year, $42.5 million extension.

Brown, 24, had a breakout 2011 campaign, where he hauled in 69 passes 1,108 yards and two touchdowns. He also saw time as a returner, adding to his value.

This signing will certainly not please Wallace, who continues to hold out in negotiations over a multi-year deal, and this move by the Steelers signing Brown may be a power play in giving him an idea that his act may have grown tired.
