Antwaan Randle El, Former Steelers Receiver, To Retire

Former Steelers wide receiver and return man Antwaan Randle El is about to announce his retirement, Behind The Steel Curtain notes.

Randle El, who before turning pro was a quarterback at Indiana University, was an unpredictable presence in the Steelers offense. He was known for a glorious touchdown pass to Hines Ward in Super Bowl XL.

He won't go down in history as being the best player ever to wear No. 82, but Randle El always provided that hint of excitement - as well as danger - on the field. His pass to Ward couldn't have come at a better time, and couldn't epitomize his career any better. It may be the only play he makes all game, but it's one you'll remember.

Randle El came to the Steelers in the second round of the 2002 draft. He played four seasons for the Steelers before joining the Washington Redskins for four years. He returned to the Steelers in 2010.
