Its been six years since Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers took a trip to Oakland, and what little Roethlisberger remembers of the trip wasn't fun.
Roethlisberger had a bad day in the stadium nicknamed the Black Hole as the Steelers lost, 20-13. He told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette he remembers it poorly:
I remember throwing like six or seven picks and it being a crazy, hostile place. That's about it. And losing the game.
Roethlisberger might have had a hard time figuring out which team to throw to that game, but it wasn't quite that bad -- he only tossed four picks, although two were returned for touchdowns, providing the Raiders with the majority of their offense on the day. He was also sacked five times. As Ed Bouchette writes in that article, Roethlisberger may have been feeling the effects of a concussion the previous week that probably would see him sidelined in today's NFL.
Roethlisberger has only thrown one pick against four touchdowns thus far this season and is facing a Raiders team that allowed 35 points in their last outing, so its likely this performance will be better than his last against Oakland.
