With Super Bowl XLVII officially in the books, NFL fans can start looking toward the NFL offseason, specifically the most important part of the offseason -- the 2013 NFL Draft.
Despite the fact that the Pittsburgh Steelers boasted one of the best defenses in the league in 2012, ranking first against the pass and second against the rush, SB Nation's latest mock draft has the Steelers selecting Alabama Crimson Tide defensive tackle Jesse Williams with the No. 17 overall pick.
Jesse Williams displays an impressive combination of size and athleticism. He moves around well for a big man and would fill a huge need for the Steelers at nose tackle. It's about time for Pittsburgh to retool the Steel Curtain.
Williams stands at 6'4, and weighs a cool 320 pounds, and certainly has the size to play the defensive tackle position at the next level. SB Nation's scouting report on Williams lauds his athleticism, which, combined with his size and strength, could make him into an impact player on the defensive line.
Of course, there is still plenty of time between now and April, so expect plenty of other names to be linked to Pittsburgh in the coming weeks. Still, it shouldn't surprise anyone if the Steelers continue to bolster their defensive line, and reforge the Steel Curtain.
