Pitt has moved up to No. 5 in the AP Basketball Poll. The Panthers are behind Duke, Ohio State, Kansas and Syracuse in the rankings, and they only moved up one spot after a huge win against the UConn Huskies last week. There simply wasn't much headroom for them, though, or at least there isn't right now, thanks in part to their loss against Tennessee a few weeks back. The Panthers are currently the highest-ranked team that isn't yet undefeated, and they'll have to wait for the four teams in front of them to pick up at least one loss before they can move up. The Panthers play Providence and Marquette this week, then have a big game against No. 13-ranked Georgetown next week, followed quickly by an even bigger matchup against Syracuse that will give Pitt a great chance to prove they really deserve to be ranked among the top few teams in the country.

Here's the top ten:

1. Duke

2. Ohio State

3. Kansas

4. Syracuse

5. Pitt

6. San Diego State

7. Villanova

8. Connecticut

9. Missouri

10. Kentucky
