Mitch Vingle of the WV Gazzette is reporting that yesterday West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins confirmed to him what many fans of Mountaineer basketball already knew or at least expected: Noah Cottrill will never be a Mountaineer.
↵He was West Virginia's high school player of the year, and led Logan County to the WV AAA Championship and seemed to be a sure thing at the college level. Many had hoped Cottrill would come to campus and slide effortlessly into the guard rotation as a freshman. Instead, he was suspended indefinitely before the season and hasn't been a part of the team at all this season.
↵While rumors have swirled around Morgantown for most of the season regarding Cottrill's suspension, many had held out hope that this young man would do what he needed to do to work his way back into Bob Huggins' good graces. Instead it seems that Cottrill, who has officially withdrawn from school, will be forced to go it alone if he ever hopes to grace a basketball court again. It's a shame, as all signs point to a troubled kid with problems deeper than running offense or playing defense. All of us in the Mountain State wish Noah the best of luck on his next endeavor.
