West Virginia University's incoming head coach in-waiting Dana Holgorsen has reportedly added two more assistant coaches to his staff. According to WVMetronews.com, Holgorsen has invited Bill Bedenbaugh and Robert Gillespie to join the Mountaineers' staff next season.
↵Bedenbaugh is the offensive coordinator at the University of Arizona, against whom Holgerson squared off in his last game as Oklahoma State offensive coordinator. Bedenbaugh and Holgorsen have deep ties stretching back to their playing days at Iowa Wesleyan. While not officially announced, it's expected that Bedenbaugh will join the staff as the new offensive line coach, replacing recently-fired Dave Johnson. This will be a welcome change in Morgantown, as the offensive line's play was at the heart of the Mountaineers' struggles to score this season.
↵Also joining the staff is Robert GIllespie. Gillespie has been the Oklahoma State Cowboys' running back coach for the last two seasons. He is expected to reprise that role in Morgantown. Gillespie and Bedenbaugh are the second and third new additions to the Mountaineer staff, following a report from the Nacogdoches, Texas Daily Sentinel that Stephen A. Austin quarterbacks coach Shannon Dawson will be joing Holgerson in Morgantown next season.
