B.J. Daniels Injury: South Florida Quarterback Will Play Vs. WVU, According To Report

Brett McMurphy reports that South Florida quarterback B.J. Daniels will play Thursday night against WVU.

USF QB B.J. Daniels cleared to play, expected to start vs. West Virginia tonight

As a human being, I try to remember that it’s almost always a good thing when an ailing human being gets well. But this isn’t the best news for WVU’s chances, since Daniels is the Bulls’ top offensive weapon.

Daniels hurt his shoulder in a game against Miami two weeks ago. The Bulls lost that game 6-3 as backup Bobby Eveld failed to get anything going against the Hurricanes defense.

Of course, it’s also fair to note that, before being injured, Daniels couldn’t make anything happen in that game either. And Eveld fared better last week against Louisville. Still, the Bulls are better with Daniels in the game.

South Florida is just 1-5 in the Big East, but the Bulls have played relatively close games against Cincinnati, Rutgers and Louisville, so the game isn’t a gimme for the Mountaineers. That’s especially true when Daniels is healthy.
