West Virginia vs. Baylor: Bears Survive In Overtime, 83-81

West Virginia snagged defeat from the jaws of victory on Friday night at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas and fell 83-81 against No. 7 ranked Baylor.

The Mountaineers held a 3-point lead with under a minute left, but the Bears' Pierre Jackson his a 3-point jumper with :20 to play, which tied the game 76-76. That was the score at the end of regulation before Baylor staked itself to a lead in overtime and held on to avoid the upset.

Kevin Jones posted a spectacular 28-point, 17-rebound performance to keep West Virginia in the game, even as it trailed 40-33 at the half. Darry Bryan, who had 16 points, four rebounds and four assists, and Jabarie 18 points and seven assists, had solid performances, too.

It wasn't enough, however, as Jackson's 23 points, Brady Heslip's 19 points and Quincy Acy's 15 points and eight rebounds proved too much for the Mountaineers to overcome.

West Virginia will be in action next on Dec. 28 when the Mountaineers host Villanova for a 7:00 p.m. tip in Morgantown.
